Jenna and Dan’s ceremony at Palais Royal was held at dusk. Jenna loves candles, twinkly lights, and dimly-lit spaces. The couple crafted a ceremony playlist together and even selected the order of the songs to be played. After the actual wedding ceremony and saying their vows, they had their first dance right then and there. It was dark, intimate, and romantic. The atmosphere was simply stunning and unforgettable.
To describe the scene, the ceremony and reception areas were full of greenery, wooden elements, and candles. The chuppah was decorated with giant leaves, vines, lanterns, a personal dreamcatcher that Jenna had made for herself, and of course, twinkly lights.
I must say that I was impressed by Jenna’s vision. She wasn’t afraid to change the order of the events or to schedule dinner before the ceremony, which means that the guests weren’t hungry while she and Dan promised to love each other.
Provide one piece of advice or insight about your wedding?
Jenna: “When you have a vision, run with it. When people give you excuses why it won’t work, tell them you don’t see that as a problem or an obstacle. You DO NOT need to worry about what everyone will think about your wedding. But I can guarantee that if your vision is powerful and epic, it will make a mark. I still have people commenting on the order, style, and vibe of my wedding – even with all of the criticism I received leading up to it. Fight for what you want and let the rest fall into place because it will”
I love when couples have a vision for their wedding and are not afraid to break some rules to make their special day unique. I also love that Jenna and Dan embraced the weather on their wedding day! The sky was gloomy and dreary, but they weren’t afraid to go out and create some magic in the rain! This is why keeping a positive attitude is so essential on one’s wedding day!
-Weddings are not about perfect posed photos. It’s the small and imperfect in-between moments that will always remind you of how you felt on the day you said, “I do.” They will bring more memories and joy than even the most stunning posed images!
