During my summer trip to Alberta, I had the incredible opportunity to photograph Ania and Tayler in a remote and picturesque location, at Rawson Lake Kananaskis in Alberta. Being an avid follower of Ania’s Instagram account, where she shares her fashion and design inspirations, I was already familiar with her unique sense of style and creativity. So when I found out that I would be travelling to Alberta, I immediately reached out to her, and we agreed to collaborate on a photography project.
Ania and Tayler, both nature enthusiasts themselves, suggested meeting early in the morning and embarking on a scenic hike to Rawson Lake in Kananaskis. I had never been to this hidden gem of a lake before, so naturally, I jumped at the chance to explore this new location with my camera.
As the sun began to rise on the day of our shoot, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation and excitement. The mountains towered in the distance, their majestic peaks seemingly inviting us to discover the secrets they held. The fresh mountain air filled my lungs, energizing me for the adventure that awaited.
We started our hike, and the trail slowly but steadily led us deeper into the heart of nature’s embrace. The path was lined with vibrant wildflowers, their colours rivalling those found in an artist’s palette. Each step brought us closer to the hidden sanctuary that awaited us at the end.
During the hike, I couldn’t help but marvel at the love and camaraderie shared between Ania and Tayler. They effortlessly navigated the rocky terrain hand in hand, their bond evident in every smile and stolen glance. Their genuine affection was a joy to capture through my lens, and it added an undeniable intimacy and authenticity to their portraits.
Arriving at Rawson Lake felt like stepping into a fairy tale. The crystal-clear water shimmered in the sunlight, framed by lush greenery and towering mountains. The serenity of the surroundings served as the perfect backdrop for Ania and Tayler’s couple session, bringing the organic beauty of nature into every frame.
One particular moment that stands out in my memory is when Ania and Tayler decided to dip their toes in the cool waters of Rawson Lake. As they stood hand in hand at the water’s edge, their laughter filling the air, I captured a candid shot that encapsulated their carefree spirit and love for each other. It was a spontaneous and genuine moment that perfectly encapsulated the essence of our adventure that day.
