What to Consider for your Summer Wedding

The Summer months are hands down the most popular and sought-after dates for Weddings in Toronto. We finally get to enjoy the long hours under the sun and celebrate exchanging vows outside. However, it also comes with its own set of challenges, especially when it comes to staying comfortable and radiant throughout the day. Here are some tips to consider for your Summer wedding:

Dress for the Heat

Selecting the right wedding attire is crucial for staying comfortable in the summer heat. Opt for a wedding gown made of lighter fabrics that are appropriate for the outside. Fabrics that breathe, such as cotton organdy, chiffon, crepe, or voile over silk. These materials allow for better airflow and can help prevent overheating during outdoor ceremonies or receptions.

Keep a Snack and Touch-Up Bag Close By

You wouldn’t want to be Hangry in your photos, so keep a small snack bag handy with light, portable treats to nibble on between events. Additionally, have a touch-up bag with essentials like lipstick, blotting papers, and perfume nearby for quick refreshes throughout the day.

Makeup and Hair Trials with Humidity and Sweat

Summer weather can wreak havoc on your hair and makeup, so it’s smart to choose products and styles that can withstand the heat and humidity. During your makeup and hair trials, discuss your concerns with your stylist and opt for long-lasting, waterproof options that will stay put throughout the day.

Break Up Your Photosession in Little Parts Throughout the Day

If your day allows, consider breaking up your photo sessions into smaller parts throughout the day. By breaking up the day into “Mini- Sessions—first look, ceremony, sunset session, and nighttime moments—we capitalize on diverse natural lighting and varied settings. This helps avoid a couple of hours out of the sun and gives you and your partner time to rest and enjoy intimate moments together. This approach not only enhances the quality of your photos but also ensures a seamless and enjoyable day without feeling overwhelmed by the camera.

There will be people outside

For our city Weddings, The streets are always bustling with people, filling up parks, streets, and venues. Even though we might want our photos to capture just the scenery, we can’t avoid having folks in the background. Some might move out of the way if we ask nicely, but others won’t budge. That’s just city life! If this is not something you are looking for, getting a permit to shoot in a quieter location might be the way to go.
